Fall Growth Groups
Sunday Night Fall Growth Groups
September 7-October 19 at 5PM
Open Bible Study for Co-ed Youth and Adults--Facilitator: Ben Nobles
Location: S204-205
We will discuss multiple passages from God’s Word and determine what God says about His church and thus what we should believe and obey. These truths may be simple to understand, but they are not easy to obey. Often, we find ourselves adding to God’s revealed truth by putting our thoughts on equal ground with His. We need to hear and simply heed God’s Word regarding His bride and body – the church.
“How We Got the Bible” for Co-ed Youth and Adults -- Facilitator: Dr. Luke Tolar
Location: The Tolars’ Home (limited to 12 participants, sign up is required)
Have you ever wondered how we got the Bible? If the original manuscripts were written in Hebrew, Aramaic, and Greek, how was the English version translated? How do we know English translations are reliable? What English translations are most consistent in consideration of the oldest and most reliable manuscripts? What is the difference between Dynamic Equivalence and Essentially Literal or Formal Equivalence?
In this class, students will learn how we got the Old Testament and the New Testament. We will discuss the copying and translating of original manuscripts from the original authors. The purpose of this class is not only to inform and educate believers but also build confidence and trust in the precious Word of God. If you sign up for the class, we ask that you are committed to attend every class of this study since space is limited.
Book of Philippians Bible Study for Women--Facilitator: Charly Gore
Location: S202-203
Ladies, do you long to discover the secret to experiencing joy, contentment and peace in every situation? Please join us in our study of “The Book of Joy”. Even though Paul wrote Philippians from prison, he is teaching us how to find joy in spite of imprisonment, joy in spite of people, joy in spite of things, joy in spite of circumstances. The only book needed for this study is your Bible. Join us as we simply walk through the text and discover God’s heart for us as we rehearse the all-sufficiency of Christ in every life situation.
Following Jesus in a Digital Age for Coed Youth and Adults
