Living Water Ministry
Just as Jesus offered "living water" to the Samaritan woman at the well, the Living Water Ministry seeks to offer that same water to shoppers at the Santuck Flea Market on the first Saturday of each month.
Volunteers in the Living Water Ministry arrive at Santuck Baptist Church on flea market Saturday's between 8:00 am and 9:00 am and engage flea market shoppers by offering cold water to drink, a Scripture verse for the day, and an activity or small gift for children. Through this interaction, ministry participants have an opportunity to share the love of Christ and the Gospel.
There is a table where shoppers can leave a prayer request or pray with one of the volunteers. The prayer requests are passed along to Sunday School classes and included in Sunday morning prayer concerns.
Chairs and electric fans are provided for shoppers to rest and cool off during their morning of shopping at the flea market. T
his time of rest allows ministry volunteers to interact "one on one", offering a smile and encouragement.
For children, Bible Memory Cards, seasonal coloring postcards, school pencils with a Scripture verse printed on them, or (when it is hot) frozen treats are offered.
This amazing interaction between followers of Christ and the large community of people who attend the Santuck Flea Market occurs on the first Saturday of the month between March and December between the hours of 8:30 am and 11:30 am, weather permitting.
There is no requirement for volunteers to stay for the entire time and there are opportunities for all age groups to participate.
If you are looking for a great volunteer opportunity, they are always looking for smiling faces to help them in this ministry.
